Leanne Thorose
It was perhaps inevitable that Leanne would turn out to be a musician, combining folk music and bluegrass. Most of her mother’s side of the family, who come from County Donegal, are musicians and her father, Ced Thorose has bluegrass roots, having originated from one of the southern states of America. I first met Leanne when she was about ten years old, shortly before she decided to teach herself mandolin, fiddle and guitar.

Ced Thorose and Charlie Boston
I first met producer, Mark Moseley in 2002, when he produced my first Nashville album, “Dogwood Place”. I contacted Mark in 2010 who agreed to produce two more albums in the summer of 2011. “Out on the Ridge” is a joint album made with my old friend and bluegrass mentor, Ced Thorose. I wanted to maintain the aim of recording original material. I wrote six of the songs, Ced wrote the four instrumentals and we co-wrote two songs.

The Olde Boston Tea Party
“It is eight years since my last CD, Dogwood Place, which I recorded at the Sound Studio in Nashville. With this new album I have had the pleasure of recording with musicians I have known and played with in England for many years. The current band, which gigs mostly in the West Country, was going to be called The New Boston Tea Party, but regrettably this would have clashed with Sarah Palin’s political movement. As a result, we settled on The Olde Boston Tea Party.

Charlie Boston
“I made this album in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Mark Moseley. He and my manager, Lee Williams, rounded up some of the most respected names in bluegrass. Many of them have received awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) for being the best in their field: Jim Hurst, who acted as band leader, (current IBMA guitar player of the year); Missy Raines (current IBMA double bass player of the year – and for the three years before that!) and Alison Brown (current IBMA banjo player of the year) and Rhonda Vincent (current IBMA female vocalist of the year with no less than 23 other major awards!!).

Ced Thorose
A varied album of 14 tracks showing the diversity of resonator guitar player Ced Thorose. The album includes a wide range of mostly original bluegrass instrumentals together with some beautiful Irish and American ballads sung by Mary O’Rourke, Barry Bradley and Ced himself.
Ced is familiar to all enthusiasts of bluegrass music in the UK. Apart from his reputation as a player, Ced is also the UK’s finest maker of resonator guitars which carry his trade name “Diamond Back”. This is one reason he prefers to call them “resonator guitars” rather than “dobro’s”. The accompanying musicians on this album include some of the UK’s most well known players of bluegrass and acoustic country music.

The Charlie Boston Band
Nominated in the UK Country Radio Awards – Best album by a British Artist in 2001.
“I first recorded these songs in 1999 with Ced Thorose, but otherwise a different collection of musicians. Almost as soon as the CD had come back from the factory I realised that it was not up to standard. However, I went ahead and recorded Driftwood the following year, when I met producer and engineer, Joe Leach. The experience of making Driftwood brought home the need to redo Truths & Fantasies from scratch. This 2001 recording is what I should have done the first time around. Still, you live and learn and I am delighted that this new production of Truths & Fantasies has now been nominated for the British Country Music Radio Awards.” – Charlie Boston

The Charlie Boston Band
“Driftwood is an acoustic album which embraces “new acoustic” country, bluegrass and folk music. The songs that I wrote for this album range from toe-tapping tales of innocence and corruption to intimate ballads of love and reflection. There is also an instrumental bluegrass breakdown by Ced Thorose. I am thrilled that film producer Adam Mason has picked two tracks from the album to feature in his new film, Dust, which is scheduled to go on general release following the Cannes Film Festival in the spring of 2002.” – Charlie Boston
